Rationale
Plymouth Public Schools has initiated a comprehensive redistricting process that could change attendance zones at some of the District’s 12 schools in the future. This work is taking place through the support of a Redistricting Advisory Committee consisting of 12 parents representatives, school committee members and district administrators. Throughout the process, the Plymouth Public Schools will be seeking input from parents/guardians, students, staff, community, and other stakeholders.
The redistricting process is necessary to optimize facility utilization, or more simply, to make sure our buildings are being used to serve students in the best way possible.
It is anticipated that this process will take approximately 5-6 months. At the conclusion of the 6 months, the results and recommendations will be presented to the School Committee. The Committee will continue to engage the public through April of 2022 prior to reaching a final decision on any boundary adjustments.
Any recommendations that may be approved by the School Committee will go into effect for the 2023-24 school year.
